Job Introduction
Elson Junior School Class Teacher
Is working within a fantastic team important to you? Are you a teacher with a passion for delivering creative, engaging, inclusive learning experiences for children? If so, we are looking for a teacher to join our UKS team.
We have one permanent part-time vacancy (0.2 FTE) from September 2025 for the right person. We are happy to accept applications from teachers with QTS, unqualified teachers or senior support staff, providing they can demonstrate the depth of experience required for this role. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate at interview that they have the professionalism, drive and determination to provide our children with the fantastic school experience that they deserve.
It’s a given that you will be able to demonstrate the ability to develop strong relationships with children, colleagues and parents which will result in you enabling safe, respectful behaviours in our pupils; and the ability to inspire our pupils to learn and achieve well. In addition, we are looking for a team player who is prepared to throw themselves into our ongoing school improvement journey and join in our aspiration for the best experience and environment for our pupils. You will have a clear understanding and experience of how to overcome the impact of disadvantaged circumstances.
Our school values drive all that we do and our Headteacher provides clear vision and direction. Our leadership team has a secure understanding of the strengths and areas for development in our school and we have an ambitious ongoing improvement plan in place to collaboratively further develop our school. “Staff have together improved every aspect of the school so that it is achieving its vision of helping pupils to be happy and successful members of society.”
Aspiration – many of our children come from deprived circumstances. We believe in the power of education to broaden their horizons and raise expectations for their future prospects. We want our children to be proud of doing well. “Pupils enjoy learning because lessons are well organised. They listen attentively to each other and adults, and eagerly engage in practical tasks.”
Integrity – we want all members of our community to strive to demonstrate the qualities associated with integrity; honesty, decency and fairness. Developing a clear sense of personal responsibility and the power of everyone to be able to achieve great things together as a team is a fundamental aspect of our ethos.
Compassion – the principles of kindness, collaboration and respect are encouraged and enable our pupils to value their own ideas and those of others in a respectful way. “Pupils feel happy and safe in this nurturing school.”
Adaptability – our curriculum has to prepare our pupils for a rapidly changing world. We want to prepare emotionally capable pupils who are ready for the next stage of their education towards future productive employment.
Creativity – we believe that pupils should be able to explore subjects and areas of interest in different ways and celebrate creativity and the role that it has in enabling all pupils to overcome challenges and solve problems.
We can offer you:
- A genuinely caring, friendly team with a staff committed to sharing best practice through collaboration and coaching
- CPD to support your personal aspirations
- A school with fantastic grounds in which to inspire and motivate children
- And last but definitely not least, fantastic children & families that make coming to work a pleasure
