3 days/wk PPA/Leadership cover teacher

Please Note: The application deadline for this job has now passed.

Job Introduction

A rare opportunity

The last time this job was advertised was 2015 - 9 years ago when we found our perfect PPA/leadership cover teacher. We are now searching for our next superstar as the current postholder moves onto a very exciting new opportunity!

We have a strong group of teachers and support staff who really value our children and provide great learning opportunities for them through practical and well-rounded topics and experiences.  We'd love someone who wants to join us in doing this.  This post supports cover for PPA across the school on Mondays (the only fixed day of the contract) and 2 remaining days to be agreed with the successful candidate.  These days cover an ECT for their release time (half a day), SENCo release (1 day) and the remaining half day for subject leader release time.

It's an interesting and varied post with no class commitment but still high expectations to deliver great learning.

Fundamentally, we are looking for a new team mate with three key qualities:

the ability and interest to teach across the primary age range - it's a great opportunity to get to know every child in the school.  It does require super organisation but a thorough handover with the current post holder is definitely available.

the ability to reflect - we are all learning and whether a lesson goes right or wrong, we share it and learn from it.  We never settled for second best but achieving consistently good teaching and learning is a team effort.

but most importantly;

we want you to care about our children; they get one chance at school life.  We want you to be motivated by their success, know that they learn when memorable experiences are created and understands that clear boundaries are critical alongside someone who is kind and caring.

We recognise that this is a unique post and would love to meet you or chat with you if you're interested in it.  Please contact the headteacher, Mrs Emma Jefferies on 01264 810550 or e.jefferies@stockbridge.hants.sch.uk.  Application packs are available through her or through Debbie Spayes, our admin officer d.spayes@stockbridge.hants.sch.uk.

We reserve the right to interview candidates at a mutually convenient time as applications arrive.  Final deadline for the post is Friday 8th November 2025.

Safer Recruitment

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.
