Administrative Assistant, 20 hours per week, term time only

HCC Salary Grade B1-B3 (FTE 25,615 - 25,958)

Pro Rata Salary = £11,843 - £12,002


We are seeking to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic, and highly organised Administrative Assistant to join our busy office at Potley Hill Primary School, Yateley

As the successful candidate will often be the first point of contact for visitors, parents and families, we are looking for someone who is approachable, welcoming, and professional, with the ability to remain calm and organised in a busy school environment.

The role would suit someone with previous administrative experience whose skills are transferable to a school setting.

The successful candidate will:


  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, visitors, and other stakeholders
  • Provide a warm and welcoming service to everyone who visits the school
  • Communicate professionally, sensitively, and effectively with all members of the school community
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team while also using their own initiative to solve problems
  • Be confident using a range of IT systems and software
  • Deliver first aid to pupils and support their welfare needs when required
  • Monitor attendance and liaise with the Head Teacher and Attendance lead
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, flexibility, and adaptability
  • Work efficiently, accurately, and excellent attention to detail
  • Understand and uphold the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.
