Admin Assistant

Job Introduction

Due to an increase in pupil numbers, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and conscientious administrative assistant to join our friendly team who work in the school office. As one of the first points of contact for parents and visitors to the school, you will need to be able to communicate effectively, in a welcoming and professional manner. The ideal candidate will be someone who is able to work effectively as part of a team, is flexible and organised and who works well under pressure. 

We need someone who can work from 8.30am until 1.30pm, Monday to Friday. There may also be additional hours available, covering staff absence. The role is initially fixed term, until the end of the autumn term, to provide support over one of our busier times of the school year and there is a possibility that it may extend beyond this or become permanent.

Wickham Church of England Primary School is located in the heart of the historic village of Wickham, only a few minutes’ drive from the town of Fareham and easily accessible from the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton. Our grounds are extensive and are surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Meon Valley. 

The successful candidate will need to be:

Flexible

Friendly and caring

Able to multitask and work calmly under pressure

A team player

IT literate

A creative thinker

Able to use initiative

Aware of the importance of confidentiality 

Experienced in or willing to undertake training in management information systems

Qualified to GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C or above in English and Maths

Be first aid trained or prepared to become first aid trained
