Job Introduction
The Oaks CE Learning Federation are looking to appoint an Admin Assistant to join our Admin team. The role is primarily based at St Michael & All Angels Infant School but also involves working at and with our federated schools of Copythorne and Netley Marsh. We are looking for a friendly, welcoming and efficient person who will be the first point of contact for parents and visitors and will be confident in running the school office on a daily basis.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to react with a wide range of adults and children in a professional, confidential and caring manner
- Good administration and organisational skills
- Good standard of IT skills, can operate a variety of IT applications or be willing to learn
- Ability to use initiative, be flexible, work as part of a team and independently
- Can work under pressure and prioritise tasks efficiently
- Be educated to a good standard in English and Maths
- Demonstrate an awareness of safeguarding, GDPR (data protection) and health and safety in schools
- A good sense of humour is essential!
Duties will include:
- Providing a welcome to parents and visits, while ensuring compliance with visitor procedures
- Answering face-to-face, telephone and email enquires in a timely manner
- Daily attendance and school meal administration
- Liaising and communicating with staff across the federation
- Maintaining and managing day to day systems to ensure information is kept up to date
- Booking, recording and maintaining staff training needs
- Support in booking and organisation of trips and events
- Caring for the welfare needs to pupils, when they arise
Experience of working in a school office is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
