Administration Assistant

Job Introduction

Job Title: School Administration Assistant

Working Pattern: Part-Time or Full-Time (4 or 5 days a week – let’s talk about what fits your life!)

Contract Type: Term-Time Only (Enjoy every school holiday off)

Are you the kind of person who gets a thrill from a beautifully organised filing system, thrives in a bustling environment, and believes that every child deserves a warm welcome first thing in the morning? We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized School Administration Assistant to join our team and help make our school office run like clockwork.

Your main mission? To keep the administrative cogs turning smoothly behind the scenes so that our school remains a safe, happy, and beautifully organised space focused entirely on our pupils.

How You Will Keep the Office Focused on Our Pupils

In a school, every administrative task directly impacts a child's day. You will keep our pupils at the heart of the office by:

  • Being their go-to adult: Welcoming children who come to the office with a smile, helping them find lost property, or sorting out a fresh whiteboard pen for their classroom.
  • Guarding their safety and attendance: Managing the morning register, following up on absences quickly, and ensuring our pupil records are meticulous so every child is safe and accounted for.
  • Creating a calm haven: Maintaining a tidy, structured, and peaceful office environment, ensuring that when a pupil walks through the door, they feel calm and looked after.

Keeping the Office Running Beautifully

You will be the engine room of the school, ensuring everything is in its right place. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Streamlining communication: Answering the phone and monitoring the school email inbox with warmth and clarity, ensuring messages get to teachers and parents without delay.
  • Managing data and paperwork: Inputting pupil information, updating records, and keeping our digital filing systems wonderfully organized.
  • Supporting the school day: Helping order essential classroom resources, sorting the daily post, and assisting with tasks that keep the wider school team supported.

About You

You love order, you love people, and you love variety. We are looking for someone who is:

  • A natural organizer: You spot what needs doing before anyone else does, and you love creating systems that make life easier for everyone.
  • Warm and approachable: You have a friendly, patient manner with children, parents, and colleagues alike.
  • Tech-confident: You are comfortable using databases, emails, and spreadsheets (experience with school platforms like SIMS, Arbor, or CPOMS is a great bonus, but full training is provided!).
  • A brilliant multi-tasker: You can stay accurate and focused even when the office gets busy and lively.

What We Offer You

  • Flexibility: A consistent 4 or 5 day a week routine that lets you build strong relationships across the school.
  • The school holidays off: A term-time-only contract, perfect for matching your schedule with family life or personal commitments.
  • A joyful workplace: A supportive, laughing team where your hard work behind the scenes is genuinely celebrated and valued

We reserve the right to close this job advert early if we receive a sufficient number of applications or identify a suitable candidate.
