Administrative Assistant

Job Introduction

We are a forward and outward looking school; we are aspirational for our pupils and in what we want to achieve as a school.  We are constantly reflecting and refining what we do – nothing is set in stone, other than our dedication to ensuring an outstanding quality of education and experience for our pupils and mutually respectful relationships with our parents.  Our core values are:

Be kind.  Be confident. Love learning.

We are looking for an Admin Assistant who absolutely embodies all of these attributes. The Admin Assistant is usually the first point of contact for the school, and it is essential that they are able to consistently promote our values to all of our visitors.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be kind, respectful and appreciative of people from all backgrounds
  • Be friendly, but professional and discreet, maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Be unflappable (on the surface anyway!), able to cope with noise, interruptions and last minute changes of plans
  • Have a robust sense of humour
  • Have a commitment to the wellbeing and safeguarding of children
  • Have excellent communication skills – with children and adults, verbally and written
  • Be able to deliver information in a succinct way
  • Be efficient yet thorough, with a good attention to detail
  • Be confident to use a variety of software programmes, including Microsoft Office
  • Be confident in dealing with a range of medical conditions and day-to-day first aid
  • Ask for help when uncertain

We can offer you:

  • A friendly and supportive team from admin and site maintenance to teaching and support staff.
  • A Senior Leadership Team who are passionate about children’s progress, but also about ensuring staff wellbeing and a healthy work/life balance.
  • A school with a strong, kindness-led ethos and highly effective ‘Learning Powers’ which are used across the school.
  • Friendly, happy and very well-behaved children who love learning and an incredibly supportive parent body.
  • Excellent professional development opportunities.
  • A wonderful setting in which to work.
