Job Introduction
Advanced Learning Mentor – 31.50 hours per week, 8.15am – 4.00pm Monday and Wednesday and 8.15am–3.15pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, term time only (39 weeks). Grade D – Step 1 Actual Annual Salary £19,583.52 (which is equivalent to a full time salary of £26,818).
Deer Park School is a new state of the art seven-form secondary school which opened in September 2021. At present there are just under 700 students on roll across Yr7, 8, 9 & 10. We are part of the RAISE Education Trust which comprises of Deer Park Secondary School, Wildern Secondary School and Boorley Park Primary School. We will have a PAN of 1050 when full.

As an Advanced Learning Mentor, we are seeking candidates who are highly motivated and committed, with excellent communication skills. To coordinate and deliver 1:1 and small group interventions, under the professional direction of a qualified teacher, including planning, preparing, assessing, recording, and reporting on development, progress, and attainment, complement and support the professional work of teachers by developing strategies to support students in the classroom and sharing these with classroom teachers and support and line manage Learning Mentors to develop their support practice. Adaptability is essential as is the capacity to relate well to both students and teachers.
A desire to make a difference will be equally valued along with a good sense of humour. Previous experience is required. We would also welcome applications from individuals who are considering entering a career in teaching.
