Redwood Park Academy is looking to recruit a committed, inspiring and forward-thinking Assistant Principal to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a pivotal whole-school leadership role with strategic responsibility for Quality of Education and Curriculum Development. 

This post offers the opportunity to shape and continually refine a bespoke SEN curriculum that is ambitious, personalised and meaningfully aligned to pupils’ Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

Redwood Park Academy is a special school for approximately 165 pupils aged 11-16 years who have complex learning difficulties including autism, speech, language and communication difficulties and medical conditions.

We are a relational school community with high aspirations for every pupil. We value collaboration, reflective practice and strong partnerships with families and external agencies to secure the very best outcomes for our pupils.

Your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of a bespoke curriculum aligned EHCP outcomes
  • Developing and refining 14-16 curriculum pathways and accreditation provision
  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of the curriculum on pupil outcomes
  • Be a relational leader who empowers staff to achieve through development and coaching
  • Lead and inspire staff to deliver consistently high-quality teaching and assessment
  • Champion our vision and values
  • Be prepared to support classes responsively and teach when needed
