Job/Person Summary
We are looking for a confident and caring person to join our Breakfast Club team as a Breakfast Club Assistant. This role supports children attending the club for KS1 and KS2 children at the school.
As part of the role, you will be required to support with the day-to-day operation of the club including setting up and tidying away the provision. You will also be responsible for supporting children to develop socially, emotionally and personally, at the same time facilitating a positive and healthy start to their day in a fun, safe and caring environment.
We are looking for someone who:
- Relates well to both children and adults and has excellent interpersonal skills
- Is caring, calm and patient
- Is able to work as a part of a team, learning with and from other colleagues
- Enjoys working independently and with initiative
- Will proactively supervise children in the breakfast club, encouraging good table manners, promoting healthy eating and assists with associated duties; setting up and cleaning tables and chairs, preparing breakfasts and clearing away
- Actively promotes play and engagement in fun activities and recognises the positive benefits it can have for children
- Takes responsibility for setting up and tidying away playground resources
- Understands confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
- Willing to undergo first aid training
