Mengham Junior School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and conscientious caretaker to join our dedicated and supportive team. If you enjoy working with children and are skilled in routine maintenance, then please read on.

Hours: 35pw
7:30am-11:00am
2:30pm-6:00pm
Times are negotiable.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing a caretaking, cleaning, porterage and routine maintenance service to meet the needs of the school building and its grounds
- Ensuring high standards of cleanliness and operational effectiveness and compliance with Health and Safety requirements.
- Completing risk assessments
- Overseeing and manage all site security procedures
- Leading a small cleaning team to maintain a clean and safe working environment for children, staff and visitors.
- Conducting performance management of cleaning staff
- Maintaining the cleaning supply inventory
- Liaising with contractors where required
- Assisting with school trips by driving the school minibus.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Hold a MIDAS certificate or be willing to be trained
- Honest, reliable, and hardworking
- Energetic, self-motivated and able to use their initiative
- Friendly and approachable
- Able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
Due to the nature of the role, the appointed person may need to attend the school day or night and so flexibility is essential.
