Caretaker - Havant Site
35 Hours per week
We are seeking a practical and enthusiastic Caretaker to join our team supporting our Senior Site Manager in providing a clean, safe and well-maintained learning environment for our pupils and staff. Our ideal candidate will be practical, with general knowledge and some experience of decorating, able to carry out routine repairs and cope with the demands of a busy school site.
The Caretaker post also has line management responsibility for the two on site cleaners, so will be required to monitor cleaning standards and ensure the desired standard of cleaning is achieved and maintained.
We are looking for the successful candidate to carry out their hours either side of the school day, both before and after the young people attend the school site 06:00-09:00 and 14:00-18:00. The contract is for 52 weeks per year, therefore there will be a requirement for work to be undertaken during the school holidays, however we are flexible in how these can be worked.
The successful candidate will have a good standard of English & Maths, and should have good IT skills.
The person appointed will support the Senior Site Manager in the upkeep and maintenance of the Site. Please see our person specification and local duties documents for further information.
The Key Education Centres provide alternative provisions for pupils aged 11—16 who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools. Our provisions pride themselves on being abreast of current pedagogy and our work around attachment-focused and trauma informed practice is a fundamental part of our work in engaging pupils in learning experiences beyond those of the traditional curriculum alongside providing them with the skills needed to succeed in life beyond The Key and in modern Britain.
