Caretaker - Havant Site

We are seeking a practical and enthusiastic Caretaker to join our team at Havant, supporting our Senior Site Manager in providing a clean, safe and well-maintained learning environment for our pupils and staff.  

Who are The Key Education Centre?

The Key Education Centres provide alternative provisions for pupils aged 11—16 who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream schools

We are a 'Good' Education Centre (OFSTED February 2018) our environment can be challenging, but we believe the support available and our team focused approach make this a really rewarding experience.

Role responsibilities:

  • Keyholder - opening and closing the site daily
  • Ensuring a clean, safe and inviting environment for our young people and staff
  • Work to maintain the site and grounds to a good standard
  • Manage two cleaning assistants, assisting with cleaning duties as required

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be practical & ‘handy’, able to carry out routine repairs around school and with some experience of decorating
  • Efficient
  • Resourceful
  • Enjoy working both on their own and as part of a team
  • Have good IT skills – but training can be offered

Role specifics:

35 hours per week, ideally carried out 06:00-09:00 and 14:00-18:00, either side of the school day, however there may be some flexibility in these hours.  

The contract is for 52 weeks per year, therefore there will be a requirement for work to be undertaken during the school holidays, however we are flexible in how these can be worked.
