Child and Family Support Worker

Job Introduction

We are very proud of our school which is in the heart of the community. We are often described as a village school in a town setting. The school has recently undergone renovations over the summer. The role of the Child and Family Support Worker is to provide an early intervention service to our families by offering intensive, hands-on support for our families; modelling good practice and working alongside parents at key times of the day, in order to rapidly improve parenting capacity over a short period. 

The role requires working flexibly for 35 contracted hours across the week to meet the diverse needs of the caseload.

You will;

  • Have good communication and listening skills.
  • Have high level mediation and conflict resolution skills and will be experienced at working with a wide range of parenting needs. 
  • Have a solid understanding of childhood development and behaviour management and insight into the causes behind challenging behaviour. 
  • Be prepared to deliver approved Parenting Courses/Training. 
  • Have relevant experience and an understanding of the role of other agencies including Early Help Hub supporting Primary Phase pupils. 
  • Be self-reflective, emotionally resilient, and will have strong IT skills. 
  • English and Maths GCSE Grade C or equivalent
