Key Stage 2 Class Teacher at Merton Junior School

Are you a skilled and ambitious teacher with a strong track record of delivering high-quality teaching and raising standards? Merton Junior School is seeking an effective and reflective Key Stage 2 Class Teacher who is committed to ensuring every child achieves their very best.

This is an exciting opportunity for a confident practitioner with strong subject knowledge, high expectations for behaviour, and a commitment to excellent teaching across KS2. We are looking for a teacher who can inspire pupils, maintain purposeful learning environments, and work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.

The successful candidate will play a key role within our KS2 team, using assessment effectively to inform teaching, identify gaps and accelerate pupil progress, while contributing positively to a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement.

We Are Looking for a Teacher Who:

  • Has experience in Key Stage 2 
  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge across the primary curriculum 
  • Is a good or better classroom practitioner, committed to high-quality teaching 
  • Has high expectations for behaviour and can create a calm, purposeful learning environment 
  • Uses assessment effectively to inform planning and accelerate pupil progress 
  • Delivers engaging lessons that secure strong outcomes for all pupils 
  • Is a team player, working collaboratively and contributing positively to planning and professional dialogue 
  • Has high expectations for all pupils, including closing gaps for disadvantaged pupils and stretching higher attainers 
  • Adapts teaching effectively to meet the needs of pupils with SEND and disadvantaged backgrounds 
  • Is reflective, organised and committed to continuous improvement
