Class Teacher (KS1) 

Wellstead Primary School is looking to recruit  a creative, inspiring teacher for our forward-thinking, dynamic and inclusive primary school

We are a warm and friendly school where everyone works hard to ensure that the children have the best possible opportunities.   We are committed to professional development and support each other to be the best that we can be.  Successful candidates will demonstrate a keen interest in developing their own skills,  as well as working within a supportive team.  The role is based in KS1. 

The salary offered is MPS 1-3  it is suitable for an excellent ECT.

For an ECT:

  • An experienced, trained Induction Tutor, and an Induction Mentor who will work alongside you in the same year group with PPA at the same time

  • Your statutory ECT time, ECT training and other training opportunities as they arise

  • Continued support and guidance as you develop your career as a teacher 

Person Specification

In addition, we are looking for someone who: 

  • Has a love of teaching and an avid interest in how children learn most effectively

  • Is creative and approaches tasks with positivity and a can-do attitude, and encourages pupils to do the same 

  • Demonstrates resilience and reflection with the aim of enhancing their own teaching capabilities so that our pupils receive the best possible education

  • Encourages pupils to show initiative, take risks with their learning and challenge themselves

  • Will plan to meet the strengths and areas for development of all children, including those with SEND or who are disadvantaged

  • Have some experience of managing challenging behaviour and planning to meet more complex SEND needs 

  • Is prepared to become fully involved in the life of our school and community

  • Is prepared to offer activities outside of the classroom to enhance the learning and school experiences of our children

  • Is flexible and can respond to the changing needs of the school and its pupils on a daily basis
