Job Person Summary: Class Teacher
Purpose of Role:
Deliver high-quality teaching in line with national standards and school expectations, supporting all pupils to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach engaging, well-structured lessons.
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet diverse needs.
- Set high expectations to inspire and challenge pupils.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the wider school community.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and staff appraisal.
- Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
- Promote and follow safeguarding procedures in line with statutory guidance.
Skills & Knowledge:
- You have a solid understanding of the National Curriculum and know what effective teaching and learning looks like.
- You understand how children learn and can adapt your teaching to meet the needs of all pupils.
- You're confident building positive, supportive relationships with children.
- You're knowledgeable about safeguarding and committed to keeping children safe.
- You understand SEND and know how to support pupils with additional needs in a mainstream setting.
- You manage behaviour effectively and work well as part of a team.
- You’re confident using ICT to enhance learning in the classroom.
