An exciting opportunity has arisen for a class Teacher to join our wonderful junior school, as we embark on our journey to connect children with the great outdoors. We have are crafting a new curriculum that is just right for our school, and have been busy developing our school grounds to embed our school value ‘curiosity’.
It is important to us that you value the impact of roles and responsibilities for children, which develops a sense of belonging at Clanfield. Our children have been involved in a huge range of volunteer roles within our school, such as the Clanfield Rangers who are teaching the pupils about permaculture, School councilors who have transformed lunch times and our brand new community officers. Can you help us further embed our value of ‘kindness’?
Teaching is tough- here at CJS, we are proud of our caring and reflective culture. Teachers are given the time they need to be successful, and have opportunities to explore projects of interest. They are well supported with new initiatives or training, with carefully planned in time to work with subject or phase leaders. Our Governors are friendly and very approachable, and understand the school well.
We are looking for a teacher who is:
· Creative and inspirational
· Believes in childhood, play and being curious
· May have KS1 experience or knowledge (not essential)
· Has a clear understanding of how children learn and can use assessment for learning effectively to inform next steps for children
· Kind and understands the importance of trusting relationships
