Job/Person Summary

We have a vacancy for a cleaner to join our friendly team for 2 hours a day, to start on 18th November, or sooner if possible. These hours can be worked daily either from 6am - 8am or from 3.15pm - 5.15pm.

However, we will consider applications where there would need to be a change to this working pattern to accommodate the most suitable candidate. 

The successful candidate will ideally be an experienced cleaner and must be able to work to a high standard in order to maintain a hygienic, safe and pleasant environment in which children can learn. 

Duties will include:

  • Emptying bins
  • Cleaning allocated areas
  • Washing tables and chairs
  • Cleaning sinks and toilets
  • Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping
  • Ensuring we have a clean and welcoming school environment
  • Supporting site security by unlocking the school site (am) and preparing the premises for use by unlocking internal doors, opening blinds etc.

 The successful candidate will:

  • Take pride in a job well done and be committed to achieving high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Be punctual and reliable 
  • Be willing to undertake any training relevant to the role
  • Be trustworthy, maintaining confidentiality at all times in respect of school related matters
  • Manage their time effectively and be flexible around the demands of the position
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team whilst also demonstrating initiative to work without supervision.

This is a 40-week contract. There are 39 weeks in term time so the additional week is worked during the school holidays; however, hours worked during school holidays are blocked together in agreement with the caretaker.
