St. Michael’s CE (Controlled) Infant School, Aldershot is a popular three-form entry school tucked away in beautiful grounds.

We are seeking to appoint a reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking person to join our friendly premises team. 

We are looking for a cleaner to ensure our learning environment is kept clean, clear and maintained in accordance with COSHH and Health & Safety regulations. The role will include cleaning classrooms, toilets, corridors, shared areas, offices, and staff room to maintain a safe and hygienic environment to work and learn. 

Keyholder responsibilities for securing the premises and site may also be required on occasion.

The role is for a total of 15 hours per week (3 hours per day Monday to Friday), 52 weeks a year, with a shift pattern Monday to Friday to be before or after school hours in term time weeks. 

The successful candidate will be expected to: 

- Carry out a range of defined cleaning duties within a specific area to a high standard and in line with agreed procedures 

- Respond to requests for service provision eg cleaning specific areas which are particularly dirty.

- Maintain observation on maintenance requirements and report any deficiencies to Caretaker/Line Manager.   

- Monitor and notify when stocks are low.

- Assume keyholder responsibilities when required.

- Follow all school policies 

- Practice health & safety policies applicable to this role including security and COSHH regulations.

- Be able to meet the physical demands of the job. 

- Carry out risk assessment when moving furniture, ensure chemicals stored appropriately.           

- Maintain observation of security of area of working and report any potential security breach to line manager.    

- Awareness of cleaning specification and standards required.

- Ensuring that high standards were set and maintained.

- Treat all school matters as confidential. 

- Support the values and ethos of the school.
