Job Introduction
We seek to appoint two reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic School Cleaners to work alongside the Site Manager at Grange Junior School.
You will ensure that designated areas of the school are cleaned to a high standard while adhering to health and safety procedures.
We are looking for reliable cleaners who understand the needs of a busy school and take pride in their work, ensuring that all areas of the school are kept clean, hygienic, and safe to create a suitable environment for staff and pupils. We would like these staff members to have good cleaning experience (but not compulsory), an excellent attitude to being part of the school, and to be keen to ensure high standards in the cleanliness of the school environment.
This post will be for 15 hours a week, Monday to Friday, term time only (39 weeks). The hours are Monday to Friday before school 7-8am and then after school 3.30-5.30pm, with a possibility of some flexibility within these hours. There will also be an opportunity to carry out up to six deep cleans during the school holidays, for which additional payment will be made.
Grade A - Annual FTE Salary £23,556 - £23,657 per annum pro-rata. Actual salary £8,168 - £8,312.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Wiping down surfaces
- Vacuuming carpeted areas
- Dusting surfaces
- Sweeping hard surfaces
- Emptying bins
- Cleaning toilets, wash basins and sinks, including any wet areas
- Mopping floor areas
- Cleaning non-slip floors

An awareness of the health and safety policy and practice as it applies to the Role, including COSHH regulations, would be beneficial.
