Job Introduction
Our school is looking for a co-opted Governor to join our Governing body. This is an opportunity to support and work in partnership with the school, Headteacher and Governing board to; ensure the school has a clear vision, ethos, and strategic direction; help oversee the financial performance of the school; and hold the school to account for its educational performance.
The term of a school Governor is 4 years and is purely a voluntary role. You will be expected to attend Governor meetings at the school approximately 6 times a year which will take place both in and outside of school hours. Governors also make monitoring visits to the school each term.
You will also need to spend some time prior to meetings reading any material, such as policies, that are due to be discussed.
Training is on offer to develop and enhance your skills. This will not cost you and will be covered by the school. You will be expected to undertake relevant training courses by Hampshire Governor Services.
We would be delighted to hear from anyone who:-
- Is interested in children’s education and the performance of the school
 - Has spare time and the energy for the role
 - Is able to work well as part of a team

 - Can consider matters objectively and make informed judgements, acting with integrity, and in the best interests of the school
 - Helping to set and review the schools strategic direction and agreeing targets for improvement
 - Playing a strategic role in the educational performance of the school and its pupils
