Job Introduction
The Crescent Primary School is a large thriving Primary School in Eastleigh Hampshire that was recently rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted. We are looking for a co-opted Governor to join our Governing Body who shares our school values –
- We aspire to be our best
- Everyone belongs here
- We are curious about the world
- Love is at the heart of what we do
No experience is necessary and an extensive training programme is offered. For our current vacancy, you must not be a parent of a child at the school.
In line with our ‘everyone belongs’ value, we encourage applications from candidates from ethnic minority groups, to ensure that we best reflect our school’s diverse community.
Governors are essential for the effectiveness and success of the school and it is an extremely rewarding and fulfilling role. More details about what being a Governor means are in this role description - Make a difference – join Hampshire’s school governance community | Education and learning | Hampshire County Council.
All our school Governors serve a four-year term. The successful applicant will need to complete a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, and we will follow safer recruitment principles in making our appointment.
If you would like to find out more, or would like to apply for the role, please contact Robert Wayman at Robert.m1.wayman@gmail.com.
All applications should be completed and returned by 15 September 2025. We may close the role sooner if we have a suitable candidate. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a short informal interview.
Safer Recruitment
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.
