A successful, popular, and highly regarded school with around 1000 students, The Hurst School combines outstanding facilities with a real commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive school.
We are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to oversee whole classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher. This role is ideal for anyone considering a career in teaching, as it offers valuable classroom experience and access to a range of professional development opportunities. Many of our previous Cover Supervisors have gone on to teacher training and qualified teaching roles here at The Hurst. While this position is particularly suited to aspiring teachers, we welcome applications from candidates who could bring integrity, creativity, and enthusiasm to this rewarding role.
Experience of working in a teaching/child support environment is desirable but not essential as training will be given. The ability to build relationships with students is vital, alongside upholding the high expectations of the school.
Employees of The Hurst benefit from free on-site parking, an on-site nursery and an on-site gym. We are a rural school within easy driving distance of Reading, Newbury and Basingstoke.
This school and Hampshire County Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Check as well as other relevant pre-employment checks.
Completed applications should be sent to: adminoffice@hurst.hants.sch.uk
Closing date: 1st December at 12 noon.
