The Mark Way School is a school for children age 11 to 16 with Moderate Learning Difficulties. We have high expectations of behaviour, attendance and engagement with learning, whilst recognising that personal development is hugely important in the lives of our young people. It is our aim that the children leave us ready for the challenges the next steps in their education and their and adult life.
Purpose of the role:
The role of Deputy Head Teacher at The Mark Way School we'll incorporate both strategic and operational elements, as Deputy Head, you will be responsible for Achievement and Inclusion for the whole school. You will play an important part in shaping the school, working closely with the Headteacher, you will help define and embed the school’s vision, leading on incusion and student achievemnt, and the promotion of high standards of behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
Main responsibilities
- Strategic leadership for Inclusion and Achievement.
- Mentoring and support of SLT members through the appraisal system.
- Contribute to school self-evaluation and the School Development Plan.
- Carry out safeguarding responsibilities as DDSL.
- Operational, day-to-day management of the school.
- Analyse data to inform decision-making, evaluate impact, and set high expectations.
- This post will incorporate some teaching responsibilities – TBC
