Are you an ambitious, inspiring leader with a commitment for inclusion and a drive to ensure every child succeeds? 

The Governors of Oakley Infant School are looking to appoint an exceptional Deputy Headteacher, with a passion for Inclusion, to take up post in January 2027. The new Deputy Headteacher will work alongside the Headteacher, to continue to build on our current achievements and take the school forward. The position will have a regular teaching commitment providing cover in classes across the school.

We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher who;

  • Is a highly motivated and innovative individual who can inspire their colleagues and lead through a teamwork approach to achieve an outstanding level of provision
  • Will be the SENDCO across the school
  • Has a range of experience across EYFS and KS1
  • Is an outstanding classroom practitioner with a strong commitment to high-quality teaching and learning
  • Will model outstanding practice in all aspects of teaching, learning, assessment and leadership
  • Is a strategic thinker with high expectations and a proven track record of raising standards
  • An accomplished communicator, able to build and maintain good relationships
  • Is a leader who is keen to build on our close relationships with parents, carers and the local community

Shortlisting and Selection

The shortlist will be drawn up on Thursday 8th October 2026.

The interview will take place on Wednesday 14th October 2026. Further detail will be sent to those candidates selected for interview.
