An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Headteacher to join our senior leadership team at The Hollybrooks Schools. In June 2024 Ofsted rated the Junior School as a ‘Good’ school.
The Hollybrook Schools are in the Shirley area of Southampton close to both Southampton Hospital and the University of Southampton. We are a federated two form entry Infant and Junior School.
Our reputation for SEND provision is very strong in the community. Our pupils are polite, motivated and ready to learn. Behaviour across the schools is exemplary and visitors regularly comment on how well our pupils represent the schools. We are committed to continuing to provide an inclusive curriculum that values all pupils as individuals and recognises their voice. Children are at the heart of everything we do, and we use research to inform our practice and ensure strong outcomes for all pupils; our reading offer is a particular strength of the schools.
We are seeking a Deputy Headteacher who will have responsibility for curriculum, assessment and be the Designated Safeguarding Lead from April 2025.

- Has excellent pedagogy and the ability to support both staff and children to be the best that they can be;
- Understands and can articulate the importance of systematic, regular, and accurate assessment and its importance in securing good outcomes for all children;
- Has a creative and innovative approach to curriculum planning to encourage children to become lifelong learners;
- Is a highly effective teacher and leader of learning, with experience of delivering a broad, rich and varied curriculum that meets the needs of every child;
- Is committed to Safeguarding in the role of DSL;
- Is a skilled communicator, able to work alongside all stakeholders and the wider community;
- Has a genuine commitment to team working and the development of all our staff team.

The Hollybrook Schools are part of Hamwic Education Trust (HET) - a large, well established Trust with currently 37 academies across the South Coast. Linked to 6 community-based partnerships, there are 34 primary academies, 2 secondary and 1 hospital school. The Hollybrook schools are part of a 7 school partnership within the Trust that work closely together supporting one another
