Design and Technology Technician

2 Days a week (days negotiable), term time only

8.00am - 4.00pm

We are seeking to appoint a Design Technology Technician who is enthusiastic, skilled and self-motivated, to support the Curriculum Leader of Vocational Learning within the school.

We are looking to appoint a person not only with the skills and knowledge to complete the work, but also someone who has a real enjoyment for Design Technology. The ideal candidate would be willing to support the pupils and teachers to complete their project work in Design Technology and to engage with their learning.

 

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Prepare materials and equipment to ensure that the correct resources are available for practical lessons
  • Deliver equipment to classes and collect, check, and return equipment to the stores to ensure that it is safely, securely and appropriately stored
  • Carry out maintenance checks and arrange for repairs as necessary to ensure that all equipment is safe and ready to use in lessons
  • Undertake stock checks and ensure that all tools are stored safely and secure to ensure the health and safety of students and staff in the school
  • To ensure that the department is fully compliant with COSHH and Health & Safety regulations
  • Perform health and safety checks and ensure equipment and workshops are clean and tidy to maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment for students
  • Delivering and maintaining CAD/CAM equipment within the department
  • Assist with reprographics, CAD/CAM and ICT administration
  • Keep record of orders made and budgeting details
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the faculty leader or DT staff.
