EYFS Class Teacher

Job Introduction

Micheldever C of E Primary school is seeking a passionate and talented EYFS practitioner to join our hard-working, welcoming and skilled team. 

We are a small, rural village school who serves the needs of our diverse community through high-quality, inclusive teaching and by instilling our four key Christian values of Love, Trust, Hope and Forgiveness in all who attend. We have high expectations for all of our pupils, regardless of their background, and work incredibly hard to make sure that all children thrive. 

This role is suitable for experienced teachers, or those early in their careers. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Early Years practitioner who displays the following characteristics:

  • A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and a genuine passion for early years education
  • High expectations for all children, with a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for all
  • A deep understanding of child development, enabling effective scaffolding through play-based learning
  • Skilled in extending and enriching play, using Assessment for Learning (AfL) to move learning forward
  • Creative and proactive in designing engaging, fun, and memorable learning experiences
  • Committed to inclusive practice, with a secure understanding of how to support all learners
  • Creates purposeful, adaptable learning environments, both inside and outside, that respond to children’s interests
  • Strong behaviour management skills and high expectations for learning behaviours
  • Builds positive, effective relationships with children and parents
  • Works collaboratively as part of a team; is reflective, open to feedback, and committed to continual professional growth
  • Able to effectively direct and guide support staff to maximise children’s progress
  • Communicates clearly and supports the development of children’s communication skills
  • Brings warmth, calmness, good humour, and a natural PACE approach to interactions
  • Enthusiastic about outdoor learning, with an interest in forest school approaches
