Early Years Assistant - Hart Plain infant School

We are recruiting an Early Years Assistant!

We are very excited to advertise for a new staff member to come and join our team. We are a small Infant school with a big heart. Everyone at Hart Plain is passionate about aiming high for our children and school community. Our school has a friendly, warm and family feel. We’d love you to join the family.

The successful applicant will have a love of Early Years and be experienced in supporting children’s early play, learning and development. You will be a playful, patient, caring and motivated person who enjoys working within a team. You will have a good general education with sound literacy, numeracy and IT skills. 

Above all, you must believe that with determination, compassion and energy they can make a difference to the children and their families, raise aspirations and ensure the best possible outcomes for our pupils. 

Nursery, pre-school or school experience is essential.  The successful applicant will be skilled in supporting the class teacher to create a calm and purposeful learning environment and have excellent interpersonal skills to support our relationship approach to learning.

Hours – Hours to be discussed at interview stage. 31 hours per weekTerm time only - 39 weeks

Salary – Grade C1, FTE £23,049. Actual salary £16,518 

Closing Date – 20th December 2024

Start Date – TBC

The Expectations

  • At least GCSE Grade C in English and Maths. Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline is desirable but full training will be given to the right candidate.
  • Previous experience of working with and guiding the learning of children in a school and or early years setting.
  • Experience in behaviour and SEND.
  • Good administrative skills to ensure accurate record keeping and monitoring of pupils’ attainment.
  • Good IT skills - Be able to use emails efficiently and create resources using computers.
  • The ability to maintain children's interest, enthusiasm and motivation for learning. 
  • A strong commitment to ensure effective behaviours for learning are maintained.
