Job/Person Summary

Eling Infant school is looking for an enthusiastic, caring Early Years Teaching Assistant to work flexibly in the Nursery Class which is part of the Foundation Stage at Eling Infant School. In the first instance, this post will be fixed term from 22nd April until 31st July 2026 with a view to extending or becoming permanent.

There may also be the availability to work additional hours in our breakfast and after school clubs.

We are looking for someone who is fun, kind and patient, and who has an excellent knowledge and understanding of how children learn in their early years.   You will enjoy engaging and interacting with young children both in an educational and play setting and be someone who is able to use initiative when working independently, as well as being someone who works well in a team. Work may also involve 1:1 SEN support, experience of working with children with SEN would be an advantage.

Previous experience of working with young children in a school or nursery setting is required. Ideally you will have evidence of ongoing professional development. NVQ Level 3 or a willingness to undertake this qualification in the job (fully funded) is required for the role.
