Job Introduction

Early Years Learning Support Assistant

Hours of work:  Core 8.30 to 3.00 (half hour unpaid lunch) Plus 1 hour for meetings

Located: Within our onsite nursery Barn Owls 

Start: As soon as possible

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the planning and execution of age-appropriate activities and curriculum in the setting.
• Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for children.
• Oversee the development and wellbeing of children, ensuring their progress is tracked and communicated with parents.
• Take on the role of Key Person, ensuring the holistic development and personal care needs of a group of children.
• Ensure health and safety standards are met, maintaining a clean and secure environment.

Ideal Candidate:
• As our ideal nursery practitioner, you will be flexible and creative with strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team. You will have a sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and be passionate about child development. It is essential for this role to hold Level 2 or 3 in Childcare qualification e.g. NNEB, CACHE, NVQ in Childcare. Health and Social Care qualifications are not on the Government's approved list of childcare qualifications.
• Previous Experience in an early years setting or EYFS in a school.
• Strong, organisational, and communication skills.
• Passionate about fostering children’s development and creating positive relationships with families.
