Exam Invigilator

Job Introduction

Do you have an educational background or an interest in education? We are seeking to appoint Exam Invigilators ideally with experience, but training will be provided. 

An ideal candidate will:

  • Be available to work mornings from 8.15am and/or afternoons from 12.00pm
  • Be a confident and reassuring presence to candidates in exam rooms
  • Be punctual, reliable and flexible
  • Dress smartly
  • Have effective communication skills
  • Be required to undertake a DBS check prior to starting
  • Need to undertake training, including safeguarding training

Exam Invigilators assist the Examinations Officer with the administration and supervision of examinations ensuring all Examining Boards Rules are adhered to. In most cases, you will be working as part of a team.

Our pool of Exam Invigilators are required to work at various times throughout the academic year; however the two main periods are:

  • November/December
  • May to early July

Main Duties and Responsibilities to include: 

  • Setting up exam rooms in accordance with the Exam Board regulations and guidelines.
  • Starting, finishing and administering each allocated examination in accordance with all regulations and guidelines.
  • Invigilating during examinations, dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities in accordance with procedures.
  • Completing an Invigilators Log for each exam if required.
  • Ensuring that the examination room is clear and tidied for the next session and that equipment is returned.
  • Collection and collation of all scripts.

Attending meetings with the Examinations Officer when requested
