Exams Invigilator – JCQ Access Arrangements (Casual Assignment)
£15.14 per hour including holiday pay
Required from January 2026 onwards
We are seeking a patient, reliable and technically competent Exams Invigilator to supervise students undertaking examinations under JCQ access arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and invigilate students with approved access arrangements during formal examinations
- Support students with various access arrangements including extra time, rest breaks, computer reader software, and word processing
- Monitor students with anxiety and other additional needs, ensuring they feel supported whilst maintaining examination integrity
- Ensure all JCQ regulations and access arrangement protocols are strictly followed
- Maintain a calm, supportive environment throughout extended examination periods
- Complete accurate records and incident reports as required
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student needs and examination content
Essential Requirements:
- Competent user of both PC and iPad technology
- Patient and empathetic approach when working with students with additional needs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow JCQ regulations precisely
- Excellent timekeeping and reliability
- Ability to remain focused and alert during extended examination sessions
Desirable:
- Previous experience working with young people with additional needs
- Knowledge of JCQ access arrangements regulations
- Experience with assistive technology such as screen readers or speech-to-text software
Please note that examinations will run longer than standard sessions due to access arrangements. Availability for extended periods is therefore essential.
This year’s exam season runs from 19 January 2026 until 30 January 2026 and then throughout the whole of May and June 2026. Availability to invigilate during both these periods would be preferable.
