We are offering an exciting opportunity to join The Hamble School during a period of rapid improvement and change. Our intake numbers are increasing – we currently have 1170 students and are looking to expand our staffing further. We are seeking to appoint an Exams Officer to oversee all aspects of examinations management throughout the year within the school. You will be responsible for both internal and external examinations, to ensure they are completed effectively and in line with the policies of the school, awarding bodies and JCQ. The majority of the external exams take place during May/June/July. Internal exams take place periodically throughout the year. During non-exam periods the successful candidate will be expected to provide support within our administration team.
The post holder must have excellent attention to detail, (high levels of accuracy are crucial in this role), strong administrative skills, good computer literacy and be
highly effective and organised. The successful candidate needs to demonstrate rigour, flexibility, self-sufficiency as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate will liaise and coordinate with teachers, our team of exam invigilators, students, parents/ carers and examination board representatives.
Applications should be educated to Grade A-C/9-4 GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent). This role would be ideally suited to someone with project management skills. Experience of working in a school and knowledge of SIMS package would also be an advantage but not essential as training will be given to the successful candidate.
