South Wonston Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive school, committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment where all children can thrive. Our Acorns Wraparound Care service plays a key role in supporting the needs of families by offering high-quality care before and after school.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated Wraparound Care Leader to oversee the daily operation of our Acorns Wraparound Care provision. This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead a small team in delivering engaging, creative, and fun activities for children aged 3-11.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the daily operations of Acorns Wraparound Care, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children.
- Plan and deliver a range of engaging, age-appropriate activities, including arts, crafts, sports, and games.
- Support the social, emotional, and physical development of children, ensuring their wellbeing at all times.
- Maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, and school staff to ensure smooth communication and a supportive care environment.
- Ensure that safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed rigorously.
- Manage and mentor a small team of wraparound care staff, providing guidance and support where needed.
- Oversee administration tasks, including attendance registers and maintaining accurate records. (our admin team manages the bookings with parents)
Person Specification:
- Experience working in a childcare or school setting, ideally in a supervisory or leadership role.
- A passion for working with children and creating a positive, fun learning environment.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain one) is desirable.

Hours and Salary:
The hours are 2:30-6:15 for daily after-school sessions. Salary is competitive and dependent on experience. We offer childcare places for staff members' children.
In addition to this our lead will have the option to work overtime Oversee and run our Holiday Club, providing fun and enriching activities during:
- Half-term holidays (8am-4pm)
- 1 week at Easter
- 2 weeks in the Summer holidays
Our holiday club runs for children at South Wonston school and surrounding areas- we offer childcare places for staff members' children.
