Child and Family Link Worker

D Grade 3 days a week – 15 hours a week

£27,780 - £30,564 FTE

Actual £9,633 - £10,599

At Whitchurch C E Primary School, we aim to always make a difference through our caring and nurturing environment.  We are concerned that every child achieves as well as possible and understand that in order to do this some children require emotional support. The partnership with parents is a vital one and we promote a good working relationship with everyone. We are looking for a person who can help us with our most vulnerable children and their families so that that they thrive. 

The Child and Family Link Worker works with families, children and the school to provide early intervention, signposting, support and guidance. 

We are looking for a person who is: 

  • Warm and nurturing with a genuine interest in helping people
  • Can work as part of a team
  • Can use their initiative and work independently
  • Is resilient, calm and organised
  • Familiar with working in schools 

The role includes: 

  • A strong knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. 
  • Holding a Designated Safeguarding qualification or a willingness to complete the training  
  • Working with families to improve parental engagement. 
  • Keeping records of all interactions with pupils and their families
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of the pupils, their families and the school. 
  • Signposting parents to support networks and workshops.
  • Attending and leading various meetings regarding children and families.
  • Working alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead to assist with referrals to appropriate services. 
  • Working with the attendance lead, reporting to the Senior Leadership Team on trends and persistent absentees – supporting identified families.
