Job Introduction
Family Support Worker
This is an exciting opportunity providing an early intervention service to our families by offering intensive, hands-on support in the home; modelling good practice and working alongside parents at key times of the day, in order to rapidly improve parenting capacity over a short period.
The role requires working flexibly, for 25 contracted hours across the week, to meet the diverse needs of the caseload.
You will;
Be a positive and empathetic person who values honesty and integrity and has a solution based approach.
Be proactive in establishing yourself in this role, flexible and able to work independently as well as a member of a team.
Have a solid understanding of childhood development and behaviour management and insight into the causes behind challenging behaviour.
Be prepared to deliver approved parenting courses/training
Have high level mediation and conflict resolution skills and will be experienced at working with a wide range of parenting needs.
Have relevant experience and an understanding of the role of other agencies supporting primary phase pupils.
Be self-reflective, emotionally resilient, and have strong IT and literacy skills.
Finally, you will be passionate about making a difference for children and their families within our school.
