Finance Assistant

Job Introduction

We are seeking to appoint a friendly, reliable individual with a positive attitude to join our finance team. The ability to work as part of a team, to be flexible, to prioritise and to use common sense, is essential.  The finance department is an integral part of our fantastic school and the role is highly varied so requires the ability to multi-task whilst ensuring that work is completed efficiently and to deadlines but ensuring attention to detail.

The hours of work are 8.30am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30 – 4.00pm Friday  

Duties to include:

  • Support the preparation, management, and monitoring of orders for departments within the school. 
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations, including processing invoices, payments, reconciliations, and banking.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with audit requirements and Hampshire County Council regulations.
  • Provide ongoing budgetary information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist with school enquiries, including liaising with parents, suppliers and external agencies.
  • Maintain financial databases and systems, ensuring data accuracy and security.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations, policies, and internal controls.
  • Support health and safety compliance and other statutory requirements, as required.
  • Contribute to wider school administrative and operational duties, as needed
