Job Introduction
We are seeking an organised, reliable and financially astute Finance Manager to join our welcoming infant school community. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the effective financial management of our school, supporting the Headteacher and wider team to ensure our resources are carefully planned, monitored and used to best effect.

The role
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the school's financial systems, supporting budget planning and monitoring, preparing financial reports and forecasts, and ensuring that financial procedures are followed accurately and effectively. You will work closely with the Headteacher, staff and Governors, providing advice and guidance on budgets, purchasing and financial processes, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations.
The role also includes processing payments and claims, managing cash and banking, supporting purchasing and procurement, maintaining financial and personnel records, and providing information for audits and statutory requirements. You will be the school’s Data Protection Officer, with oversight to ensure the school handles personal information lawfully, securely and appropriately.

We are looking for someone who:
- Is organised, reliable and confident working with financial information
- Has experience of financial administration, budget monitoring and forecasting
- Has a good understanding of financial regulations, procedures and controls
- Is confident using Excel, financial software and databases
- Maintains accurate records and has excellent attention to detail
- Communicates confidently and professionally with colleagues, Governors and external contacts
- Is able to prioritise a busy workload and work effectively on their own initiative
- Understands the importance of confidentiality and financial integrity
- Works collaboratively and provides helpful, practical support to others
