Finance Manager

Job Introduction

Rowlands Castle St. John's Primary School is a one form entry school with a strong, child-centred ethos in the village of Rowlands Castle.

We are looking for a Finance Manager who is highly motivated, professional with excellent interpersonal skills and good attention to detail.  The successful candidate will make a positive contribution to whole school improvement through efficient leadership of the administrative, financial, recruitment and resource provisions in school.  The work pattern is negotiable.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing the budgets including the original setting, regular monitoring and revision of each budget
  • Raising orders and paying invoices
  • Petty cash payments and reconciliation
  • All aspects of HR including absence recording, input of overtime, monthly payroll reconciliations, recruitment, SCR, 
  • School dinners
  • Debt management
  • Organising school day trips and residentials trips with teachers
  • First Aid
  • Any other duties as required

The successful candidate will preferably have:

  • Experience of preparing and managing budgets
  • An excellent understanding of financial procedures and audit processes
  • Superb communication skills
  • Experience of school management of staff, finance/accounting and budgets, using IBC and Tucasi
  • Responsibility for HR, including recruitment advertising, contracts and payroll
  • Experience of working effectively with a wide range of external agencies and partners
  • Previous experience of working in a busy school office
  • An excellent working knowledge of a range of software and applications, including Microsoft Office, Teachers2parents and SIMs
  • Demonstrable experience of working as part of a team
