Appleshaw St Peter's CE Primary School, part of the Skylark Federation, is seeking an exceptional and experienced full-time Learning Support Assistant and Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) to join our team. This dual role is crucial for helping our pupils thrive both academically and emotionally.
The Role: Making a Dual Impact
This demanding yet rewarding full-time position, requires a special individual who can effectively support children's learning in the classroom while also providing targeted emotional support.
LSA Responsibilities: Working closely with teachers to provide essential in-class support, encouraging student development, and helping children achieve their academic potential.
ELSA Responsibilities: Planning and delivering tailored individual and small-group emotional support interventions across a range of needs (e.g. anxiety, social skills, loss, anger management) helping pupils to understand and manage their feelings.
Supervision: The role includes a 30-minute daily lunchtime duty, ensuring a safe and positive break for all pupils.
While the primary base will be at Appleshaw, the role may require working some hours at our partner school, Kimpton, Thruxton & Fyfield CE Primary School, to support their ELSA provision.

The ideal candidate will be:
- Experienced as an LSA, ideally across different primary key stages
- ELSA trained and experienced (essential)
- Patient, kind, resilient, and highly motivated
- An excellent communicator who can build strong, trusting relationships with children, staff and parents
- A committed team player, comfortable with working in both Appleshaw and our partner school setting.
