Job/Person Summary
We are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to lead classroom cover across our wonderful school and help us achieve our motto, ‘Achievement by All’. Ideally, candidates will already hold the HLTA qualification; however, we would also welcome applications from experienced teaching assistants looking for the next step in their career, or graduates with a longer-term aspiration to enter teaching.
The role involves working closely with class teachers and support staff to teach, support and challenge pupils across the Key Stage Two curriculum, helping every child to achieve their potential.
Experience within a mainstream primary setting is desirable, alongside the ability to build positive relationships with children and inspire a love of learning.

About the Role
As an HLTA, you will:
- Take responsibility for whole-class teaching and learning, delivering lessons planned by teachers;
- Work independently and proactively, managing behaviour effectively and adapting teaching to meet pupils' needs;
- Support pupil progress by monitoring, assessing and recording learning outcomes;
- Contribute to planning, curriculum delivery and the creation of engaging learning environments;
- Foster independence, inclusion and high aspirations for all pupils;
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external agencies to support the best outcomes for children.

- Is an inspirational HLTA or experienced practitioner with a passion for helping children succeed;
- Has excellent classroom practice and confidence teaching across Key Stage Two;
- Demonstrates high expectations, strong behaviour management and a nurturing approach;
- Is reflective, organised and motivated, with a commitment to continuous improvement;
- Can create engaging, exciting and memorable learning experiences;
- Has a strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies;
- Builds positive relationships and contributes to a strong team ethos;
- Is committed to pupil wellbeing, inclusion and pastoral care.
