HLTA or Learning Support Assistant

At Green Oaks we have the highest ambitions for our schools and our children. We are therefore looking to appoint an exceptional Learning Support Assistant who has the enthusiasm and ambition to excel in their role. The successful candidate will:

  • Have excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • Understand how to motivate, engage and inspire learning
  • Understand how to support pupils to understand key concepts and scaffold their learning
  • Be able to teach flexibly and responsively within a lesson to address misconceptions and deepen learning
  • Understand how to make feedback visible for pupils and use this to close gaps, challenge thinking and engage learners
  • Be relationship driven, and understand that behaviour communicates a meaning
  • Be committed to their own and others professional development through research, mentoring and coaching

This role is suited to either:

  • An experienced Learning Support Assistant who has high aspirations for their professional development
  • Someone who would be new to the role but is able to demonstrate the knowledge, attributes and capacity to grow into an outstanding Learning Support Assistant
