Following our recent, successful Ofsted inspection (October 2024) where Applemore was awarded GOOD across all four categories, we are delighted to be able to offer a post of Head of Science from September 2025.
Applemore is a place where, “relationships between staff and pupils are supportive and compassionate and pupils are happy and safe” – Ofsted 2024.
To fulfil this post, we are seeking a dedicated, highly motivated and inspirational leader of Science, who is forward thinking and creative. The successful and dynamic candidate will guide our Key Stage 3 and 4 learners through an engaging, inclusive, and holistic Science curriculum.
They will also:
- Lead the strategic development of the Science department
- Deliver high-quality teaching across key stages, tailored to individual needs
- Support and mentor staff, ensuring excellence in teaching and learning
Have strong leadership and organisational skills:
- Collaborate with leadership to provide a holistic educational experience
- Oversee curriculum planning, assessment, and data reporting
- Champion inclusion, equality, and diversity in every aspect of their work
