Job Introduction
Our current headteacher will be retiring after seventeen years of dedicated and inspirational leadership. We are now seeking to appoint a new headteacher to build on our current strengths and to lead our school with drive and vision in the years ahead.
What we are looking for a new headteacher who:
- Has experience of successful leadership in a primary school
- Is an inspirational leader
- Has the ability to maintain high standards and expectations
- Will establish and develop effective relationships with children, staff and all stakeholders
- Will lead the school team successfully through the period of change as it moves to a PAN of 45
- Will work alongside curriculum leaders to enhance our stimulating curriculum that meets the school’s changing structural requirements
- Will further develop St John’s inclusive reputation, ethos and provision
- Will further develop the exciting relationship with the local church and will lead the school in its Christian values
- Is committed to ensuring a positive school experience for all

Selection Procedure
The shortlist will be drawn up on 24th February 2026 and the selection process will take place on 25th February 2026. Further details will be sent to those candidates called for interview.
Applicants will be advised after the shortlisting date whether they have been successful.
