Woodcroft Primary School – High Level Teaching Assistant (Full Time)
Job/Person Summary

No one day is the same as another. Broadening the curriculum for our children and giving them unique experiences is a key aspect of our school week. Our teachers an High Level Teacher Assistants incorporate visitors, trips and outdoor learning into their planning to ensure that pupils develop a sense of the world around them. We need a HLTA who can do this, whilst ensuring all groups of pupils make sustained and rapid progress.
If you have a sense of humour, are flexible in your approach and want to work in a supportive team environment then we are the school for you. The personal development of pupils is essential in our school and we pride ourselves on every adult nurturing our young people to ensure they prosper. However, we also support our staff to develop their own careers and skills.
The successful candidate will need to:
- Be a positive influence for our children’s learning
- Hold a relevant HLTA qualification and have had previous experience in this type of role
- Have high expectations of learning and a range of behaviour strategies
- Be able to develop good working relationships with children
- Be patient and calm
- Cover for the class teacher on occasion
- Prepare appropriate resources to meet the needs of the children
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Have 5 GCSEs including Maths and English
- Able to work independently with initiative
- Be competent in the use of ICT
- Be flexible to work across a range of Year Groups
