At Kimpton, Thruxton & Fyfield CofE Primary School, we are looking for a flexible, dedicated, and energetic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to lead classroom cover across the school. Rooted in our Christian values of Faith, Hope and Love, and set within our excellent school groups, our supportive team truly feels like one big family.

Whether you are an experienced HLTA looking for an exciting new environment, an ECT seeking to build classroom practice, or a qualified teacher looking for an excellent work/life balance without the additional planning pressures, this dynamic role offers the perfect next step.

The start date for this post is Monday 4th November 2026, or sooner if possible.

The Role

This post offers an exciting and varied timetable across Key Stages 1 and 2;

  • Mornings: based in a KS2 classroom, working alongside the class teacher in a LSA capacity and delivering targeted group interventions as directed
  • Afternoons: leading whole-class teaching across the school (KS1 & KS2) in an HLTA capacity to cover planned PPA, leadership release, and training
  • Flexibility: providing high-quality cover for short-term teacher absences when needed

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualifications: HLTA status or a recognised teaching qualification (QTS/ECT), plus GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/Level 4 or above
  • Classroom Experience: proven experience of independently delivering lessons and managing whole classes across the primary phases
  • Mindset: a reliable, resilient, and collaborative team player who prioritises child safeguarding, builds positive relationships, and aligns with our core values of Faith, Hope and Love
