Higher Level Teaching Assistant Required

From September 2026, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team on a full-time, term-time only basis.
As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Your responsibilities will include leading whole-class learning to cover teacher absence across all year groups. You will also work closely with individual pupils and small groups, providing targeted support to children with a range of learning needs, including those with more complex Special Educational Needs (SEN). The hours are from 8.45am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, Term Time only.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has successful experience of working with primary-aged children.
- Holds an NVQ Level 3 qualification for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent), or has relevant experience as a Learning Support Assistant.
- Is confident leading whole-class learning and supporting pupils across all year groups.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents.
- Is calm, patient, kind and nurturing in their approach.
- Is adaptable, resilient and able to respond positively to changing situations.
- Can work effectively both independently and as part of a supportive team, using initiative where appropriate.
- Is organised, resourceful and committed to achieving the best outcomes for all children.
- Is committed to inclusive practice and supporting all children to thrive within a mainstream setting.
- Is comfortable supporting children with personal care and hygiene when required.
- Has a clear understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional responsibilities.
- Is supportive of the Catholic ethos and values of our school.

Annual salary for HLTA: Grade D, Step 1-5 : £27,780 - £30,564 pro rata. Actual salary £18/,118 - £19,928
