St Mary’s Church of England Junior School is a happy and successful junior school in Old Basing, Basingstoke. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible and dedicated HLTA who will be a motivated individual who enjoys working with children and has a patient and caring nature.

The successful applicant will be delivering lessons planned under the direction and with support from class teachers. This will be as part of regular PPA release, management or additional release time or to cover staff absence. This will be a flexible role to suit the ever changing needs to a school. The role will also include some 1:1 or small group booster sessions.

This role could be a great stepping stone for those who have the ambition to become a qualified teacher.

The successful candidate will

· have HLTA status or other appropriate qualification along with GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Mathematics

· have experience of working with children in primary / junior schools

· be able to motivate and engage all children

· be able to use their initiative and be resourceful

· be a positive and supportive team member

· have patience and strong communication skills

· be time efficient and competent in working to a busy timetable

· be flexible, adaptable and accommodating to the ever changing environment of a busy junior school
